Amiya and the others try to take Misha to safety, while Reunion is hell-bent on stopping them.
The story thus far
Natural disasters with unidentified origins have periodically struck various locations on Terra. Therefore, most people moved to live in mobile cities created over time to avoid these natural calamities.
Oripathic individuals face persecution in regimes of segregation and hard labor since their bodies gradually crystallize and become a new source of infection at the moment of death.
People who have experienced government oppression start to resist. In an effort to rid the world of the sickness, Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical corporation seeking treatment for Oripathy, picks up guns and starts a quest to save all lives from the disease.
Exusiai makes an entrance
As they are trying to convince her to go with them to safety, Exusiai makes a grand entrance humping down from the roofs and greeting Amiya and the others.
Exusiai is a red-headed, lovely, and jovial girl working for Penguin Logistics, a global logistics company, as an armed courier.
She warns the group about Reunion, who started infiltrating the city and is gaining sympathizers already, due to the people’s living conditions, so she volunteers to escort them to get Misha to safety.
Battle in the slums
The crew is walking along the narrow streets of the slums when suddenly a Reunion group, led by a caster, attacks them. Amiya, Franka, and Liskarm fight them, while The Doctor and Exusiai try to escape with Misha.
We discover that Reunion was also looking for Misha, the group doesn’t have time to regroup as another Reunion team is on their tail.
Exusiai sends Amiya the coordinates for an escape route, they split up and she jumps between the roofs to check if it’s safe to proceed in that direction.
Following the safe route the group enters a building, inside they meet Texas, another courier from Penguin Logistics, who apparently has single-handedly knocked out half a dozen Reunion goons.
Suddenly a smoke graned bursts through a window and a Reunion group enters, led by a mysterious but seemingly important character, who seems to know Misha. Despite the smoke and the chaos, our crew manages to escape safely.
The duality of the infection
Before the group could take Misha to safety, two groups of infects stand in their path. One group is Reunion, the other is just some infected people from the slums refusing to join the terrorist group, the crew makes quick work of the Reunion henchmen.
The best part of this episode comes at the end with a little monologue from Franka that made me reflect on the duality of this world, Reunion and Rhodes Island have a similar goal: Making a home for the infected.
But, while Reunion lies and promises a utopian world where the infected are free, Rhode Island has a more down-to-earth and realistic approach, that ultimately convinces Misha to trust Amiya.
