The forces of Marley launch a counter-attack against the island of Paradise to prevent Eren and Zeke Yeager from unleashing the Rumbling
Uniting the Titans

The forces of Marley launch a counter-attack against the island of Paradise. The main goal of the Marleyan forces is to prevent Eren and Zeke Yeager from uniting their Titans and unleashing the power of the Founding Titan.
The season starts with an epic rematch between Eren and Reiner. Meanwhile, Zeke, presumed dead at the end of the previous season, joins the battle as the Beast Titan. Zeke’s goal is to sterilize all Eldians, believing that’s the way to end their suffering. He wants to touch Eren and unite their powers. But if they touch, they could also unleash a million titans that make up the walls and destroy the world in an event called the rumbling.
During the battle, Zeke transforms all the Paradis Eldians that drink the wine injected with the spinal fluid into Titans. They rampage on the Marleyan forces. Falco accidentally drank some of the wine and becomes a titan, attacking Reiner. Their other friend, who has the Jaw Titan, sacrifices himself to save Reiner, Falco eats him and gets the power of the Jaw Titan.
Eren manages to trap Reiner with his hardening ability and escapes to meet Zeke, who is still alive. Eren’s friends are kept in the dark about his true intentions, but they suspect he has a secret plan. However, Gabi blows Eren’s head off with a sniper rifle, but Zeke makes the diving catch, and they finally touch, uniting their Titans.
The paths

Eren finds himself in a world between life and death, with Zeke and the founding Titan, Ymir. This place is called “the coordinates” or “the paths”, a world where all eldians are connected to each other through the first Titan.
Zeke tries to convince Eren that their father Grisha had brainwashed him and they go through Grisha’s memories. However, they find out that Grisha had allowed Eren to find his own path in life, and Eren tells Zeke that he is mistaken about them being the same. Zeke insists that he can still carry out the euthanization plan with the power of the Founding Titan.
In a memory, it is revealed that Grisha was talking to Eren’s future self when he offered to show him the secrets of their basement. They then witness Grisha’s confrontation with the Reiss family, where he reveals the Attack Titan’s ability to see the memories of future inheritors. When Frieda refuses to help, Grisha cannot bring himself to kill, but Eren goads him into slaughtering the Reiss family.
After the event, Grisha expresses his regret to Zeke for not being a better father to him and pleads with him to stop Eren. Suddenly, they are both knocked out and brought back to the Paths.
“From You, 2,000 Years Ago”

Zeke learns that Eren manipulated Grisha to acquire the Founder and commands Ymir to enact the euthanization plan, but Eren breaks free to stop her. In a flashback, it is revealed that Ymir was the first Titan and was treated as a slave by Eldia’s rulers.
Is important to know that Ymir was turned into a titan by accident when she fell into a mysterious pool in a cave under a tree and encountered a strange creature similar to an Hallucigenia and fused with the said creature.
In the present, Eren offers Ymir the freedom to choose her future and she joins him, leading to the Rumbling where the Wall Titans are released to destroy the rest of the world. Armin realizes that only a small group of Titans would have been enough to take down the global alliance, and Eren intends to exterminate all life beyond the island.
The rumbling

Eren and the Wall Titans leave Paradis to attack the rest of the world. The Pure Titans created by Zeke wreak havoc in Shiganshina. Armin, Mikasa, Jean, and Connie discuss Eren’s actions and Falco’s fate. A sudden Titan attack allows Connie to escape with the unconscious Falco, planning to feed him to his mother to make her human again.
The remaining Jaegerists and Cadets rally together to defeat the Pure Titans and Marleyan soldiers. Mr. Braus takes Armin and Mikasa to Gabi, who is horrified to learn of Connie’s plan and pleads with Armin to convince Eren that not everyone outside the island has to die. Finally, Armin realizes that Eren commanded all Titan hardening to be undone, implying that Annie’s crystal is now also undone.
The Wall Titans continue their march, causing the people in Trost District to argue about the cost of Eren’s strategy. Hitch finds Annie, who is weakened but freed from her crystal, and helps her escape from the Military Police. Annie tells Hitch that she no longer wants to fight and wishes to reunite with her adoptive father in Marley.
In Liberio, Mr. Leonhart tries to warn the Marleyan guards about the Rumbling, but they refuse to listen, leading to a fight. Back in Shiganshina, Shadis predicts the Jaegerists will take over and advises the Cadets to follow for now. Armin prepares to pursue Connie and Falco with Gabi. Hange appears with the gravely-injured Levi to Pieck and Magath.
The Alliance

The last of the Wall Titans disappear from view as the people in Trost District argue about Eren’s actions. Hange, Levi, Pieck, and Magath meet and form an alliance, and Connie brings Falco to his mother’s immobile Titan form with the intention of feeding him to her.
However, Armin stops him by jumping into her mouth instead. They all return to Shiganshina and encounter Annie, who joins their group. Meanwhile, Mikasa refuses to join the Jaegerists and recovers her scarf from Louise, and Floch prepares to execute Yelena and Onyankopon. Jean fires four shots into the ground as a signal to Pieck, who appears as the Cart Titan and takes them to Magath, Levi, and Hange.
Jean’s shots also signal Mikasa and Connie’s group to leave with supplies, Annie, Falco, and Gabi. As they depart, Annie sees someone watching them from a window. The group then meets up with Reiner as they embark on a mission to save the world.
Escape by ship

Hange and the rest of the group realize that they cannot get the flying boat at the dock ready in time to stop the Wall Titans from destroying Liberio. Kiyomi suggests they escape by ship and take the boat to the Marleyan city of Odiha, where the Azumabito own a hangar.
With the help of Titans Reiner and Annie, they fight off the Jaegerists occupying the dock to reach the ship. Falco transforms into the Jaw Titan to help and manages to take down Floch, but also loses control and tries to eat Pieck. Magath sacrifices his life to destroy a captured Marleyan cruiser, with Shadis also sacrificing himself in the process.
Flashback

Months before the attack on Liberio, the Scouts arrived on the Marley shoreline and witnessed the persecution of Subjects of Ymir who escaped internment camps. Hange hoped to forge peace by allying with the Subjects of Ymir Protection Group, but Eren went missing.
Mikasa found him at the home of a young thief they had rescued from a mob of Marleyans. Eren questioned Mikasa’s loyalty to him and they spent the night with the thief’s family. The next day, at the Protection Group’s assembly, Eren left, and the representative called for the extermination of the “devils” of Paradis. Flashbacks reveal Eren agreeing to follow Zeke’s euthanasia plan but actually planning something else, with Historia against his plan and Zeke revealing that Ackermans are not compelled by blood to protect a host.
In the present, the Global Alliance fails to stop Eren and the Colossal Titans, and Eren declares his intention to destroy the world.
