Previously on Blue Lock
After Yoichi challenged the top 3 players on Blue Lock… and lost, Bachira was chosen to join the top 3 players’ team. Now with only Nagi and Yoichi, Team white is waiting for their next rival. When Barou crosses the door, a new challenge against him and Naruhaya starts.
Bye Bye Bachira
Bachira was chosen to join Team Red. Yoichi is in shock and lost for words but he’ll try to fight to bring Bachira back to his team.

Trying to overcome their weakness
Nagi is optimistic about winning the next match but Yoichi is in a sad loop going on and on about how he can’t do anything by himself and not as talented as Nagi or the recently deceased Bachira.
Nagi gets fed up with Yoichi being a weakling and they start fighting about how they are useless without their waifus. That’s how Nagi realizes the objective of the second selection. To become a top player even without your friends you met like 2 weeks ago.

Baro enters the room after nagi and Yoichi became friends again and nothing happened, he saved himself from the tension in the air. His teammate is Naruhaya, the NPC. They are there because lack of team play, of course.

Back in their room, Yoichi and Nagi try to think of strategies to overcome their weaknesses. They only work with people who will pass the ball for them to shine. So they try to figure out how to use their talents on their own.
The next day in the cafeteria it’s funny to see how Nagi is not used to the loser’s menu. Yoichi knows very well that he can’t compete against weak players just for the sake of winning. They need to beat strong players and bring them to Team White. He needs to learn to win in one vs one.

While training by himself, Naruhaya comes into the training room to pick a fight with Yoichi. Telling him how no one would pick them and a lot of NPC babbling the protagonist wouldn’t care. So they decide to face each other and see who steals their partner.
Yoichi vs NPC
Nagi helps Yoichi in his one vs one training. Being a match with only 4 people, the individual ability is… kind of required unless Nagi learns how to teleport himself to assist Yoichi. Nagi marks Barou and the NPC will be used to clean the floor by Yoichi.
And so the 2 vs 2 match starts. Barou passes Nagi as if he were nothing and scores a goal from the other side of the field… almost. How’s that teleportation going? Yoichi has problems passing the NPC trying to analyze everything. Don’t think, feel, son. Nagi uses his acrobatic soccer to score in the meanwhile.

Team White uses Barou’s egoism agaisnt him to steal the ball, and the inhuman soccer sense, Nagi hass to socre 2-1. But Naruhaya manages to steall the ball and Barou gets a tie 2-2
Naruhaya still wants to pick a fight instead of playing soccer. More NPC talk about how both are mediocre. Even thou the one in the front cover of the 1st volume wasn’t him, know our place, Chibi. And the worst part is that Yoichi believes it! But the match just started.
