The last match of the first selection has just started. Team V is a strong opponent, but so were the other teams and Team Z got to this point anyway. Team Z is all fired up, they have their strategy and their weapons… But Reo sees right through them and, together with Nagi, they manage to copy their game. And even better. Team V is 1-0.
Three in a row
Nagi is unimpressed with his goal and just wants to go home. But Yoichi is. His ball control and technique are really annoying for Team Z. But is just one point, right? We can turn this thing. Reo takes the ball from Kunigami and he is really unstoppable. Reo looks for Nagi, ofc, and with an acrobatic goal, Team V is 2-0.
Yoichi is petrified, but he takes time to make Raichi and Kunigami stop fighting, good for the protagonist, keeping the peace. Chigiri starts sprinting but Zantetsu beats him at speed, not even that works against these monsters. Zantetsu is the author of the third goal, these guys are a machine gun.
Team Z’s morale is on the floor. They are in desperate need of a boost and that is what Bachira’s demons are for. They’re finally awake and they are telling Bachira to attack. He asks Yoichi what is he scared of and at that moment, I’m pretty sure the answer is Bachira. But is really useful how he gets all fired up facing danger.
Who wouldn’t with those moves, though. He passed Reo and Zantetsu in no time. The Team V extras don’t stand a chance. And Bachira scores the first goal for Team Z! That alone was enough to make Team V to take an eye on him now. Ok, so first goal is here, we need 2 more, time to find new goal formulas, we have to follow Ego’s orders.
Reo casually mentions how his and Nagi’s career started just 6 months ago and leaves everyone with their mouth open. Where is the usual “born with a ball” setting I’m used to? Luckily that doesn’t demoralize Team Z again, on the contrary. Raichi’s new job is to mark Reo, then. And stop him before he gets to Nagi breaking their combination from the very root. I feel good leaving it to him, go boy. Chigiri and Zantetsu are face to face in a speed match again but it’s still no good for him. Fortunately, Igarashi stopped it with his face.
Now is Kunigami’s turn to shine, he takes the ball but what can he do? He breaks his own limits and extended his goal range several meters marking the second goal. 3-2, they really can take this back.
Yoichi in the dressing room feels left out, not being able to Digievolve like his friends. He analyses what can he do but there’s not much time to think as Team V will counterattack in the second half. Nagi goes full Baro, telling him how he su— how he’s not fitted as a soccer player. This boy is going to take a ball in the face. I’m happy how Yoichi is unbothered at this point.
Ego is here! giving us a lesson about what it means to be awakened. Calling Teiri an idiot and, in a very Mufasa move, defining awakening as “realizing who you really are”.
Back to the game, Reo is still being marked by Raichi and he’s going to follow Reo to his grave. So Nagi is unarmed now. HA! Raichi gets on Reo’s nerves calling out his obsession with Nagi and Reo get’s himself a yellow card. HA!
Chigiri tries to go past Zentetsu again and you know what they say about the third time. He uses his pass-to-himself technique to shoot a goal after a race against himself giving Team Z 3-3. We are back on track, guys!
