Saki tells Rika that she won’t dare do anything to get between her and Naoya — but Rika says “Um, no, actually you’re already being cheated on with Nagisa” and Saki can’t really refute that.
Well, Naoya notices that Saki is feeling very worried and lonely about him being taken away by Rika. To make up for it, he hugs Saki tight in front of the whole class and has her sit on his lap during class. After class, Saki doesn’t want to leave Naoya alone so that Rika can approach him, and so she takes him with her so they can get changed for P.E.
There’s a short scene later that day at home where Nagisa says she wants to be hugged by Naoya too, and Saki watches on as Naoya and Nagisa share a few intimate hugs. She feels bad about this.
Naoya, at home, talks to Saki and Nagisa about how he thinks that Rika may actually have a crush on him. Saki and Nagisa decide to lie to Naoya and say that Rika doesn’t actually like him, she’s just “in heat” (like she’s some kinda animal or something?). The next day, he publicly tells Rika “I’m sorry, I thought you had a crush on me” in the middle of class — like he wants to make a spectacle about it or something. Rika grabs his hand and runs out of the room in embarassment.
Opinions / Analysis
Why did Naoya think to publicly apologize for something like that? Apologize in private, man. How do any of these girls like him? All he does is think about himself and what’s convenient for him, never about what any of his “girlfriends” want.
