Chaos arises once again on the island as members of the vanguard party are dealing with numerous monsters separately amidst the birth of an unexpected alliance and the confusing nature of Tao.
This episode starts off with a shocking encounter that was shown briefly in the previous episode as Gabimaru meets Tamiya and Fuchi. While things are going to flame at first, the situation is easily calmed down and even turns into the birth of an alliance between the three of them considering the mysteries and threats on the island that leave a big question mark.
This kind of cooperation is an obvious thing that will happen in this series, but nobody seems to even wonder that Gabimaru will bow down before and align his force with a fiery strong old samurai that wants to be remembered for his greatness for generations, and a young man who is interested in dissecting dead bodies.
Tao & Shinsenkyo
The later part of the episode serves us new information related to the lore of Hell’s Paradise, and it seems the information is a solid important key to the whole story since the power system of this series is finally introduced, and it is called Tao. Tao is basically a wave or flow of humans’ life force that can only be felt under extreme control, and it is cool to see the explanation and elaboration of Tao in different ways, as many figures in the story state different but the same things regarding its nature.
While it’s confirmed that the power may grant regeneration, quick healing, and aura scanning, a taste of mystery is still in the air as we might wonder how on Earth Mei suddenly turns from a small kid into a beautiful girl that can actually speak even her vocabulary is somewhat limited.
More Bloodsheds Across Island
Battles against monsters are pretty much like a routine for our protagonists as they keep being attacked endlessly by new waves of evil creepy monsters, and some of them even are even scouted this time for their abilities. The Aza brothers have their own fight, as well as Shion and Nurugai on the other spot of the island, which also occurs to Gabimaru’s team.
Each of them has their own issues and situations, and it is intriguing to see where things will lead up to, especially Chobei and Toma who are badly injured and not supposed to survive but end up climbing up the dead pit, fighting over the monsters, and even planning to beat down Tensen.
Episode 10 serves as a great addition following the banger in episode 9. Things are going well and smoothly at first, while also being layered with new information, and ended with another conflict and tension building up. With the appearance of the doshis, the mysteries around Tensen, the puzzlement of Tao, and the dangers from the monsters, things are surely getting nastier this time but also making the story even more engaging and impactful.
