My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog is the official English localized title of Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta.
Previously, we saw Pochita win over Nekotani’s favor — at least, for the most part!
Content
Inukai-san walks into the scene donned in a fun, skimpy dog costume complete with paws, ears, and a tail. It’s clear she’s eager to win over Pochita.

From her pocket, Inukai pulls out a small, unusual device she calls the “Doggylingus”. She explains that it’s designed to translate dog language into human speech. Her eyes are filled with determination as she decides to use it to understand Pochita’s true feelings about her. She takes a deep breath and asks Pochita if he likes her. Pochita barks a “yes”, but the translator misinterprets and relays a negative response, much to Inukai’s disappointment.

Just then, the door swings open and Inukai’s mother walks in. An awkward silence fills the room as mother and daughter lock eyes, each one taken aback by the other. The tension is palpable, but soon fades into the background as Inukai returns her attention to Pochita.

Turning back to Pochita, Inukai asks him if it’s weird that she loves dogs so much, or if it’s odd to like things others don’t usually enjoy. Pochita listens to her, and the question triggers a memory from his past. He remembers when he used to water the school garden, finding comfort in the solitude and the company of the blossoming flowers. Suddenly, Inukai walks up to him, saying that he isn’t weird for enjoying the company of flowers.

In response, Pochita barks, conveying that Inukai isn’t weird either. She consults the translator and breaks into a smile, seeming pleased with Pochita’s response, even though Pochita himself doesn’t understand what the device translated.

Later, Inukai mentions that she plans to visit Nekotani’s house the following day. She also reveals that she’s taken up a part-time job to help cover Pochita’s expenses. This leads to a scene where Pochita hatches a plan to get himself shipped to Nekotani’s house through an Amazon package. As Inukai sleeps, Pochita uses her hand to place the order, creating another…odd….reaction from her.

The episode concludes with Inukai and Pochita setting off on their journey towards Nekotani’s house, thus ending another eventful day in their shared life.

Opinions / Analysis
This episode was overall enjoyable, despite ecchi content not being particularly to my liking. I feel the story could engage viewers without such elements, but I understand that’s basically what this series is about. The episode’s highlight was the insightful peek into Pochita’s past, and a more personified portrayal of Inukai.
For viewers into ecchi, this episode offered little nudity. Personally, I’m indifferent to this point. My focus remains on the evolving storyline and character development, which this episode delivered well.
