The most recent title that came out of SEGA’s oven is the beloved Sonic, Sonic Frontiers came out on November 8th and, as always, managed to win over the fans who had always loved the SEGA mascot. This game was very important for those who love the Sonic franchise because there hasn’t been a title with quality worthy of a modern game for a long time.
But like all releases in recent years, it came with some problems, but nothing that SEGA is not willing to solve!
It had some small problems, but unlike other games (I’m looking at you Pokemon or Cyberpunk) they do not make the game unplayable. This update had a lot of help from the community and serves to resolve audio errors and optimize gameplay and performance on all platforms, mainly on Nintendo Switch. So I believe it is a very important update.
The latest update for Sonic Frontiers, Update 1.10, is now available. You can find this update on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series S and X platforms, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and for PC as usual on Steam.
With this update, the company also took the opportunity to make a statement to the fans. The producer of the Sonic franchise commented:
“Just like Sonic Adventure, our goal for Sonic Frontiers was to create a game that would be the cornerstone of future Sonic games, It is a brand-new approach for the franchise, but we have been conscious to honor Sonic‘s roots as well – the game still needs to feel like a Sonic game.”
It was also announced that there will be lots of free DLC coming in the upcoming months.
@Ruki on Twitter said:
“Got a press release from PLAION today regarding the Monster Hunter DLC for #SonicFrontiers. It states that SEGA has announced that the game will receive more free updates until next year, the Monster Hunter Collab Pack is just a starting point .”
So there will still be many things that will surprise us!
From what I’ve read, this new update demonstrates a certain concern with the state of the game on SEGA’s side, which as a consumer and Sonic lover makes me happy! It’s always nice to see that the company that made the game is concerned about bug issues and general performance across all platforms.
What do you think about SEGA’s attitude towards fixing the game’s bugs and general performance after there were reports on it? Unfortunately, not a lot of companies are willing to go the extra mile to make their games playable for their clients…
