What a sweet episode it was!
Amane did end up in the top 10 with his grades, meaning that Mahiru would grant him his wishes. Now, we all can guess what has been going through Amane’s head this entire time. The boy is clearly in love with Mahiru and feels deeply attracted to her, which we can’t even judge because Mahiru is absolutely gorgeous, and not to talk about the steamy dream he had in the last episode. But he is also a good-hearted person and he knows he shouldn’t take advantage of his friend like that, so Amane does his best to resist his “instincts” and only allows himself to lay on Mahiru’s legs and get pampered while she cleans his ears.
Amane showed once again how precious he is when he took a half-asleep Mahiru, that fell asleep on his couch, back to her house, and in her barely awake state she asked him to sleep with her and he refused, putting her plushie next to her so she wouldn’t feel alone. One thing I found adorable was how the same Mahiru who was so confident and wanted Amane to sleep with her, was freaking out when they met again the next day, anxious that he had seen a picture in her room. What could this picture be? Perhaps a picture of Amane that she has on her desk?
Now, Mahiru is in love with Amane and attracted to him just as much as he is, and like any person who is in love, she wants his attention all to herself. So, what does Mahiru do? She dresses up in her summer outfit, looking absolutely gorgeous! If we can’t resist looking at her with immense adoration, I wonder how Amane felt when he opened the door to her! But not everyone feels the same way towards Mahiru, and at school, other girls are making malicious comments and assumptions about her, something that bothers Amane immensely and makes him extremely protective towards her. Thankfully, Mahiru doesn’t pay any mind to them, and she is actually quite tired of playing the Angel at school, something that appears to make Amane uneasy, he already seemed quite jealous of others being able to look at her legs, it doesn’t seem like he is very comfortable if she shows her true self to everyone and doesn’t keep that side of her exclusive to him.
This episode ends practically with a cliffhanger. Both of them are sitting on the couch, it appears as if the only word going through Mahiru’s head while she looks at Amane is “cute” and their faces are extremely close. I was anxious, cheering for a kiss between the two, but then the episode ended, leaving all this build-up tension for the finale. The next episode will be titled “Say Goodbye To My Cowardice” so I am desperately hoping that they will finally gain the courage and take the first step and confess their feelings for each other.
What did you think of this episode? It wasn’t much different from the last ones, the constant pinning between the two, but I feel like the way this one ended will for sure impact greatly the next episode. Tell us your thoughts in the comments and your expectations for the season finale of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten!
