We have arrived at the final episode of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten! This sweet season has flown by so quickly, it’s hard to say goodbye to our favourite lovebirds. This episode is titled “Say Goodbye To My Cowardice”, so I already went into it expecting a sweet episode filled with love confessions and it didn’t fully disappoint!
Amane “threatening” Mahiru with a kiss if she keeps calling him cute but getting beyond shy when she kisses him on the cheek was adorable to see, although it was frustrating to watch them not talk to each other on the next day over this.
Amane is finally admitting his feelings for Mahiru to his friends, but oh boy, even after she kissed his cheek and showed all signs of having an interest in him, he is still too insecure to believe it. Someone wake him up!
Chitose and Mahiru setting up the scavenger hunt so she could confess his feelings for Amane was adorable, but it inevitably caused some problems between Amane and the boys who had a silly crush on her. All of them gathered around Amane, swarming him with questions about their relationship, antagonizing him and feeding his insecurities was sending me into a rage, but it was amazing seeing Mahiru, the Angel of the classroom, standing up for Amane.
During Mahiru’s call-out, she made several good points. The boys in her class like her because of her looks, none of them would probably make a minimal effort to know her as a person, and that’s how Amane differs from the others. Both Amane and Mahiru love each other because they took their time to get to know each other, and they are above all attracted to who they are as a person.
The sweetest part of the episode has to be when they properly confess to each other at Amane’s apartment, the final scene was my absolute favourite one. It was a really tender moment between two people who actually care about each other and had already so much baggage that they thought they wouldn’t find love again.
It was a great conclusion to a beautiful story, my only complaint is really shallow and it’s just that I was really hoping that we would get an I love you, but their actions and sweet words to each other speak louder than that.
And that was it! I hope this was an enjoyable ride for you, it certainly was for me and I loved to write about it! Tell us in the comments what you thought about the entire series, I would love to discuss it with you!
