As this season comes to an end, a third girl comes forward and confesses to Hayato.
Shiragiku is the third girl to fall for Hayato, but as we saw, her feelings have been around for much longer than Akane‘s and Riho‘s. We know what happens to the childhood friend in anime, could Shiragiku suffer the same fate here? Or is she going to break the stereotype and be the one who marries Hayato?
I really liked that they decided to make one of the girls a childhood friend of Hayato. However, something I noticed: a backstory has been provided for all the girls but one – Ami. She’s almost got an air of mystery around her considering she’s the only one who hasn’t had their backstory revealed. Is she really that goofy or is it an act? I hope season two clears up some of the lingering questions.
Once again, very Quintessential-esque, the author is setting up a “guess who he married” situation. Unlike Quintessential it is shown that Hayato and his wife have had a child. Hayato’s daughter was shown to have blue hair much like her father, but maybe she took after her mother in the blue hair department? Maybe Hayato took Shiragiku up on her offer to make a baby, haha. Who knows. The mother hasn’t even been revealed in the manga yet so we got a long way to go.
Thoughts On This Anime
I’d put this anime in my top three for the spring season, with Vinland Saga and Hell’s Paradise taking spaces one and two (check out our reviews for those series if you haven’t already!) Cafe Terrace provided a good story with plenty of fanservice (perhaps too much) on the side. I enjoyed the characters, I like how they all had their own personalities and dreams despite being a little too similar to the quintuplets.
