Relaxation Time

After the climax of the school terrorist attack arc, what we have this week is a slow filler episode, with just a bit of build-up towards the focus of the next arc. Like many other shows this season, the eminence in shadow is looking to wrap up for the year, which means that like the year, it only has about three weeks left in it. We meet back with Cid who has decided to stay in his dorm for the semester. He seems to be spending it avoiding his sister, before the alpha sends him a message, asking him to come to the sacred land of Lindwurm.
Epsilon Arrives

We’re then introduced to another member of Shadow Garden known as Epsilon. Epsilon herself is rather petite and small-framed, so she uses her slime suit to…well-endow herself. Epsilon seems to have some sort of rivalry with Beta who doesn’t need a slime suit to fill out her outfits. There’s a weird shot in this episode where one of the servants gets a cat while the two girls argue, and I’m not sure what the joke being delivered is supposed to be. I know it’s lewd in some way, but I couldn’t tell you exactly what way.
Comrade Struggle

Eventually, their petty squabble is ended when they’re told to go meet Cid as he arrives in Lindwurm. Cid himself meanwhile is stuck on a train with Rose Oriana, who is now smitten with him after a ‘boisterous’ sacrifice during the terrorism arc. We of course know that this is false, but still. Rose is now smitten with Cid’s chivalry, and she won’t leave him alone for the entire train ride.
Archbishop Assassination
Eventually, they arrive in Lindwurm proper, and it’s a quaint little town not unlike Midgar. The biggest surprise, of course, is that Beta is an accomplished author. Not only an accomplished author, but she has plagiarized all of Cid’s stories wholesale to become a successful author, and by Cid’s stories I mean what little snippets Cid has told her about movies and manga he’s read when he lived in our world. Beta uses this opportunity to give Cid the signal to begin the mission. What that mission is though becomes iffy as Alpha witnesses the dead body of the archbishop, strung up and on display. As the assailant escapes, Cid watches from a nearby rooftop. Before he can finish the assailant however, Epsilon murders them.
