Basic Storyline
Reincarnated after a tragic accident in her favorite BL romance novel, Maki Tazawa should be living her dream, but life’s not all rosy as Princess Octavia. In her previous life, Maki loved reading BL romance, and she’s enjoying watching her favorite BL couple, her brother Celius, the crown prince, and his lover Lord Sil.
As the original story goes, Octavia would enter a political marriage and give them her child to name as the Crown’s heir because well, two men can’t produce a child together. While the original Octavia was okay and even happy but our reincarnated Octavia can’t accept such a fate!
She refuses to marry just for political means and makes a solid stand against her brother and his lover, and her adventures as nobility in a BL-dominated world begin.

Maki Tazawa/Octavia: The female protagonist who reincarnated as Octavia. She’s the princess and is expected to have a political marriage, but this doesn’t sit well with our modern-minded princess.
Clifford Alderton: A knight who is assigned to Octavia as a personal guard. He has some secrets from his past
The manga will feature other characters like Celius, Sil, and Alexis (the second prince of Esfia) that are important to the plot and interact with the two main characters.
Manga Adaptation of Light Novel Series
The original story of The Princess of Convenient Plot Devices light novel is written by Mamecyoro and the illustrations are credited to Mitsuya Fuji and Kazusa Yoneda. They are also manga artists for the light novel series.
The Princess of Convenient Plot Devices Vol 1 light novel was published on 5th December 2020 in Japanese by KODOKAWA. Moreover, the English version of The princess of Convenient Plot Devices Vol 1 was licensed by Yen On and published on 13 December 2022.

Let’s be honest, when you imagine a girl reincarnated or transmigrated to another world, we expect a heroine, a prince who falls in love with her, and an epic battle with the villainess.
But, this manga redefines this popular isekai genre with its BL-dominated world, a heroine who just wants to fall in love and not have to enter a political marriage for her brother’s sake, and a knight with some secrets.
