After the tragic loss of Kurama and Boruto becoming obsessed with Momoshiki, the last season of Boruto: Naruto Next Generation was an action, and drama-filled roller coaster. In contrast, the new season started with a lighthearted mood and shows us how Kawaki is given a secret mission by Naruto to protect a student at the Ninja Academy.

What was happening?
Kawaki is sent on a secret mission to protect Kae, the heir to the land of Bamboo, and enrolls in the Academy. Himawari is in his class too. Despite his disdain to be around kids, he slowly starts getting along with the others in his class.
Hana-sensei invited Boruto, and his team to demonstrate their powers to the kids and to make the lesson more fun. But, she lost confidence in herself as a teacher since she isn’t flashy. But, in her way, she proves her worth to her students who come to genuinely like her.
Next off, Himawari and her friends want to explore the school at night to find out about the Seven Mysteries of the school. Kae joins in too, forcing Kawaki to participate. Then, Kae comes up with a plan to protect the children’s dream, only to get the tables turned on them when it seems that the school mysteries exist.
Moreover, Hana-sensei takes her class to the forest for a training class. It’s another bonding experience for Kawaki with his classmates.
What is going on?
Kawakiis on cleaning duty and Himawari is going out with Kae shopping. She bumps into Osuka and Neon on the way, and Osuka gives Himawari a cold shoulder. Some shady people are seen in the trees at the Academy, and a little while later, Osuka and Himawari are kidnapped by black men. We’re shown the thugs’ side, and they are arguing about what to do with Himawari. Their target was Osuka.
On the other hand, Kae meets Kawaki at the gate and asks if he had seen Himawari, but according to Kawaki, she left a while ago. They also find Himawari’s pendant on the street, and worried, the three of them start looking for clues. Back at the thug’s hideout, Himawari stands up to the Boss, and he figures out who she is – Naruto, the Hokage’s daughter.
At Osuka’s house, Kawaki and the gang find the ransom note for Osuka and work out that Himawari was kidnapped too. Kawaki and the others go to find Neon for any clues and find out more about Osuka’s relationship with her family.
Seeing a chance to escape, Himawari convinces Osuka to loosen the ropes and launches an attack on the Boss. She nearly manages to overpower him but gets caught in the end. She’s in danger – the Boss is squeezing her throat, and Osuka stands up for her to protect her.
When all hope seems lost, Kawaki bursts through the roof of the hideout and saves the day. Osuka’s misunderstanding with her mother not caring about her is also resolved, and Himawari has a friendly chat with the kind but misguided underlings. The episode ends with a mysterious figure staring at Kae.
Himawari comes out strong despite being kidnapped, and Kawaki goes to great lengths to find her. It’s a great episode; you can watch it alone or watch the new season starting from episode 261 at Crunchyroll.
