In the first episode back, Toman members clash with Tenjiku members all over Tokyo. Elsewhere, Takemichi and Chifuyu come to a conclusion about why the future always ends up bad. Check out our recaps of season one and season two if you aren’t caught up yet!
Tetta Kisaki

So we’ve known that Kisaki is the main villain of the series for a while, and we’ve known that he’s behind pretty much everything that goes wrong in the future too. But as the series goes on, more and more things keep piling up that he’s responsible for. This so-called “Kanto incident” for example. Kisaki is clearly the one who has brought all the Tenjiku members into Tokyo to cause trouble. This “Hey, hero” thing that Kisaki has said to Takemichi twice now is really curiosity-inducing too. If it doesn’t get an explanation this season, I might have to pick up the manga!
Kisaki’s Superpower

Takemichi proposes the idea to Chifuyu that Kisaki has the exact same power to travel time that he does, and this is why the future always ends up a mess. I mean just wow. If this turns out to be true it’ll make for one hell of a plot twist. We still have absolutely no clue about why Kisaki is doing what he’s doing, so that’ll make for another crazy twist once that’s unveiled.
Let’s talk a little about what’s going on in the episode, this is an episode review after all not a future plot twists prediction article. At this point, Angry, Smiley, Chifuyu, and Takemichi are heading to the Tenjiku HQ to kick up a fight. Smiley is a character that we’ve seen on screen a few times up to this point but never really got to know much about him, hopefully he’ll have a more prominent role in this season.
A Childhood Friend

So as it turns out this scary-looking Kakucho fella is Takemichi’s childhood friend. I mean come on let’s be real, something had to be up when Takemichi actually landed a hit and sent his opponent flying, that just doesn’t happen. It’ll be interesting to see whether Kakucho keeps his mindset of “Takemichi’s my enemy since he’s in Toman” or whether he works with Takemichi to take down Kisaki.
Also, Tenjiku’s leader, Izana Kurokawa, confronted Mikey. They only talked about bikes for a minute and then Izana walked away which was strange, maybe Izana just wanted to meet Mikey, or maybe they have a connection from the past?
First Thoughts On This Season
I can already tell that Tokyo Revengers is going to carry this season. We’ve for sure got a couple of other solid titles airing over the next few months, but this arc is going to be a big one, I can just tell. Tokyo Revengers never misses with the crazy plot twists out of nowhere. I’m super excited! Let us know your thoughts down below in the comments and we’ll see you next week as Tokyo Revengers kicks off for its third season!!
