Previously on Urusei Yatsura 2022
The pool Youkai took over Mendo’s hotel room creating panic and confusion as he comfortably lived underwater. When he got kicked out, Ataru and the usual gang tried to find him a place to live, finding interesting facts about Sakura, her big appetite, and her boyfriend in the process. After he went through lots of challenges, being kicked out from not only Mendo’s pool but Ataru’s home and Sakura’s date, Pool Youkai got adopted by a boy who was in desperate need of a pet and is living with him happily ever after.
New transfer student
Another day drinking tea with a giant cat for the director. The teacher was called in to receive the new transfer student. Lum is accompanied by her dad to her first day of school. Points for Lum for using the door for once. Ataru is not happy at all with how things turned out, chokes on his food, and dies…
Sports festival
Just kidding.
At the school sports festival. another cute girl is transferred and Ataru is interested, of course, flirts with her and Lum electrocutes. But She seems to know the new, fluffy pink-haired student. Lum asks her to talk alone and Ran uses this opportunity to play the poor girl. Ran knows exactly what she is doing, I love her.
Turns out, Ran is childhood friends with Lum and while looking at an old photo album she remembered a lot of things, good and bad about their childhood. They fell in love with the same man but Lum ended up engaged to him. So came to Earth to get her revenge.
Ran has this habit of suddenly bursting in anger, telling Lum all her truth, and on top of that! Her kisses can drain out people’s life… and she’s going after Ataru (of course).
Another weird race takes place in the sports festival where they have to take random objects to the goal line. Ran uses this opportunity to take Ataru behind the gym and try to drain his life out of his body… Ataru is pleased. But Lum is here to save the day.
Yet another competition, another failed murder intent for Ran, and a classmate turned into a retired grandpa because of it. But Ataru insists on being kissed.
Stargazing with your best friend is always nice… until she remembers how you took her boyfriend and her Aggretsuko genes kick in. She is focused on her objective, she is like a pink and fluffy Eren Yeager… I love her.
Farewell Party
A robot little Ran tells Lum there is a farewell party for Lum and her Darling at her house. Ran has supposedly given up on killing Ataru and she just wants to drink tea before going back home. Lum, of course, doesn’t buy it but she goes anyway.
When they go to the house/ship, Ran gives them cookies but Lum suspects there are sleeping pills on them so she gives them to a living vase and she is right! The living vase is now taking a nap.
Lum offers Ran some help and goes to wash the dishes to spy on Ran but she is unexpectedly rejecting Ataru who is insistent as always and will get electrocuted once they go back home. Serves him right!
After Ran asks Lum to go back so she can finish cooking her special plate, Lum goes back to the living room but Ataru is not there, moreover, he’s lost. Ran’s special dish is a clon with an apostrophe on it… I need one of those to take care of my chores. Ataru took the apostrophe if after playing with his clon, but that might save his life. So Ran ended up sucking the clon’s life.
The next day, Ran is still at school, and her revenge is not over yet. While on a distant planet a giant beast and Lum Otaku wake up calling for her, what does this even mean?!
Things to remember for next week: Ran won’t give up without her revenge! She is my favorite so far, maybe because of the pink hair…
