Kenta Shinohara is a Japanese manga artist responsible for making the hilarious and outgoing manga called Sket Dance, which was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2007 to 2013. In 2010, Sket Dance won the Shogakukan Manga Award.
After doing his remarkable manga series, Shinohara jumped into space for his next work called Astra Lost in Space, which was a phenomenon in Japan and won the 2019 Manga Taisho award. The manga was first published from 2016 to 2017.
Moreover, Kenta Shinohara began serializing his latest work called Witch Watch. The manga is a magical journey about a young witch named Nico, who wants to make an unusual familiar for her career, having her childhood friend Morihito, who is an ogre, be her non-animal familiar with Morihito opposing the idea of being a familiar to his friend. The plot thickens when both of their parent absence is still at hand, living under the same roof to watch each other.
Kenta Shinohara says he is physically unable to do weekly serialization
The author of Witch Watch Kenta Shinohara revealed on the Witch Watch official Twitter account that the author is not eligible for doing a weekly serialization after his recent work. The author specifically that he is physically unable to do so, even though he wanted to make it work. He also noted that has no idea when will the manga end due to its episodic nature, but he hopes that he can continue the manga as long as he can.
The manga was first published in Weekly Shonen Manga in 2021. Shueisha also published the ninth compiled book volume on January 4. In addition, Viz Media and MANGA Plus published the English translation for western audiences.

For the fans of this magical manga series, this is a piece of sad news for everyone as it may concern the health of the author, Kenta Shirohara.
